Bio

Gabbi Grey

USA Today Bestselling author Gabbi Grey lives in beautiful British Columbia where her fur baby chin-poo keeps her safe from the nasty neighborhood squirrels. Working for the government by day, she spends her early mornings writing contemporary, gay, sweet, and dark erotic BDSM romances. While she firmly believes in happy endings, she also believes in making her characters suffer before finding their true love. She also writes m/f romances as Gabbi Black and Gabbi Powell.

My Fair Goddess by Gabbi Grey

In the ominous light of the coming storm, the dishevelled petite woman I rescued seemed helpless and in need of protection. Big miscalculation. Tina’s a demi-goddess—a pint-sized powerhouse stranded in the twenty-first century—but far from a damsel in distress. Still, first impressions linger, and I can’t be in awe of someone I taught to use a toaster and to make microwave popcorn. I’m falling hard for her when her grandfather, the god of chaos, demands her return. Can our love and courage stand up to the old gods, or will we lose each other to an ancient land and powers I can barely understand?

The woman cowered, pulling her hand back from me so she could wrap her arms around her waist. “Zeus is mad.”

Okay, not what I expected. But just as logical as God is bowling. My cousin loved that one. I, on the other hand, was not enamored with either loud noises or being outside as the wind whipped and lightning threatened. My hair was slowly being blown out of my business-like ponytail. “What’s your name?” A question I probably should’ve asked a lot sooner.

“Pertinacia.”

“Can you repeat that? Perty-what?”

“Per-tin-a-cia.”

Right. That’s what I thought, but hoped I’d heard wrong. I never shortened people’s names, and I always respected their pronouns. This one, though, would be a mouthful. “Pertinacia.” From her wince, clearly I’d gotten it wrong. Well, we could sit out here all day while I tried, or we could head for shelter. “Can I call you Tina? Because you look like a Tina to me.”

“My brother, Momus, calls me Tina.”

Which would be a whole lot easier. But I had the sense she didn’t like her brother much.

I can relate.

Still… “Tina for now. Are you okay, Tina?”

“No.” Her blue eyes flashed. “I’m going to kill my brother.”

No mistaking the fury. “Oh. What did he do?”

“Abandoned me here.”

Horror-struck me. “Oh my God. Your brother dumped you here? Do you have any family nearby?”

The woman actually rolled her eyes. “I have so many brothers and sisters, I swear I lose count. But no one around here.”

That, I couldn’t fathom. One nasty brother was enough for me. “Do you need a place to stay?”

Tina glared at me. No other word for it.

Her sky-blue eyes mesmerized. A pull stronger than anything I’d ever encountered before had my heart rate picking up. Yes, Tina attracted me. But this was more than that. A compulsion fiercer than myself pulled me toward her. Told me to save her. Assured me I could. “Hey, look, I’m just trying to help. There’s no shame in admitting you need help. Come on. You can come home with me, and we can work something out.” I extended my hand.

After a long moment, she placed her delicate hand in mine and allowed me to ease her up so she stood, barely reaching my shoulders.

Uh, what the hell are you doing?

I didn’t have a clue, but that wasn’t going to stop me.
