Review: Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloth

I recently received a Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloth to try from the site Pinchme.  PinchMe is a site that after you fill out questions they find samples that fit your likings and you get a free box of goodies.  Sometimes samples wont fit your needs, but most often you will get a box of goodies, or at least in my case I do get goodies.  My favorite item has been the Scotch Bright dish towel.  My towel is yellow and stays nice and bright after I was it.  The first thing I noticed is this doesn’t hold odors like a regular dish towel would.  It has little scrubbies on one side that help get stuck on grime off your dishes.  I feel that the size is perfect too.  If your looking for a new dish towel I would recommend you try this one.  I loved mine & will purchase more.

This is my chance to begin again, to rip out my backbone and yell, “I’ve found it.” It may take time, it may take new friends, a job and even a jerk of a boss who is annoyingly handsome, but I will get there.

I’m determined to be who I want to be, and plan to have a whole heap of fun along the way.

 

I was born in Brisbane Australia, my step-dad was in the army which caused us to move around a lot. We finally settled in country Victoria, Australia. I am the youngest of four children and I can say that I was spoilt a bit. I drove my mum crazy when I refused to eat meat at a young age.
Now I live with my husband and two children, and I find myself regretting all the troubles I put my parents through because my monsters are just as picky as I was.
I started writing in 2013 and self-published the first of the Hawks MC Club series, Holding Out. The next to follow was something different, I wrote Senseless Attraction, a YA novel. Soon, I was back to the Hawks series with number two, Climbing Out. I have more to write in the series, but there will be also be more novels in the humorous erotica genre, like Left to Chance.

 

Recipe: Pernil

Pernil

Pernil is a Puerto Rican dish often made at holidays.  This would even be a nice dish to celebrate the BIG GAME.  It feeds a lot of people and tastes delicious.  The leftovers make a great Cuban Sandwich.

Pernil

Ingredients:

Pork Shoulder, about 7-10 pounds, (depends on how many people you are feeding)

Garlic Cloves, 3-4

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon peppercorn

1 teaspoon dry oregano

2 tablespoons oil, I use canola

1 tablespoon white vinegar

Directions:

In a Mortar and Pestle  add salt, garlic, peppercorns and oregano.  Smash ingredients until the peppercorns are all broken up and the garlic is also all broken up in small pieces.  Now add oil and vinegar.  Mix all together.  Let stand while you prep the pork roast.

In a roasting pan, add the pork, fat side down.  Cut slits into the pork big enough to add small spoonful’s of the oil & garlic mix.  Add the mix with a spoon until all slits are full about 10-15 cuts.  Add remaining mix on top of the pork.  Cover with saran wrap and leave in fridge overnight to marinate.

The next day:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Remove pork from fridge, remove saran wrap. Place the pork in the roasting pan in oven and cook until meat thermometer reads done for pork.  A 10 pound roast will usually take about 5 hours,  check the temp for done.

When done cooking slice and serve with your favorite sides.  If you have leftovers, don’t worry this meat is great for Cuban Sandwiches.

Recipe: Leftover Tostada

I had some leftover pork loin roast and decided to make a tostada with the extra meat.  This would be good with pork chops or even chicken. Tastes great and easy to make.  The recipe is written as I made it, so its pretty basic and written like a family member would say a pinch of this and a pinch of that, but with the basic tools, I think you will get a great meal.

Tostadas

Ingredients:

I used leftover pork loin, I had enough to make 4 tostadas.  About 2 pork chops worth if your measuring, cubed

Shredded mozzarella cheese

salt, pepper, garlic powder, cumin and chili powder, to taste, I used a pinch of each.

1 teaspoon oil

2 tablespoon salsa

sour cream, about 1-2 tablespoons each

tomato, chopped for garnish

2 corn tortillas per tostada, I used 8 for the amount of meat I had.

oil for frying the corn tortillas about 1 tablespoon.

Directions

Add 1 teaspoon oil in a fry pan, let it heat a bit, add pork, seasonings, salsa. Mix until heated through.

In a separate fry pan heat 1 tablespoon oil, fry the tortillas until a bit browned and crisp.  When cooked, place on a paper towel lined paper plate.

Place 2 tortillas on a plate, add the meat mix on top.  Now garnish with the sour cream and tomatoes and cheese.
