Bugle Witch Hats

Standard

Do you get sweet and salty craving? I have been known to dip a pretzel in chocolate every now and then. I was looking for something fun to eat and I had just bought Halloween sprinkles from BIG LOTS so I came up with this recipe. I thought I was creating a new thing when I hit Pinterest and saw there were other similar recipes. These taste and look too cute not to share with you though so here is the recipe.

Ingredients

1 bag plain bugles

1 bag milk chocolate chips

1 tablespoon shortning

sprinkles, Halloween colors

Directions:

In a microwave safe bowl, add chocolate and shortening, heat for 30 seconds mix. continue doing this until all chocolate is melted and smooth.

On a foil lined cookie sheet, dip half the bugle in chocolate, then immediately add sprinkles and stand up on the sheet pan. Continue until they ae all coated and then let cool in fridge for about one hour. Place in a fun bowl and enjoy!!

Tip: have leftover chocolate and crumbs, mix the remaining together and make clusters. They look and taste great too.

Pumpkin Pasta

Standard
I found pumpkin puree at Aldi for 89 cents a can so I bought 10 and decided to go nuts with trying new recipes. This recipe is a keeper. It looks so cute with the tri color pasta. I have also seen pasta at Home Goods in the shape of pumpkins, that would be fun to try. But to keep this a budget recipe the tri color is more than enough to get a tasty side dish for any autumn meal.
  •  1 pound tri color pasta
  • 1 can pumpkin puree
  •  2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  •  1 1/2cups half and half
  • 1 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4teaspoon  black pepper

Directions:

make the pasta per directions, set aside

in a large sauce pan melt butter, add remaining ingredients and mix to combine simmer until the cheese is melted and sauce is just bubbling and warm. serve over the pasta

enjoy!

Viscount Camden Beckinworth vows to keep his bride safe, even if he must betray her confidence. When their love is put to the test, how will he uphold her honor without jeopardizing his own?

– Warning: this sweet, complete Regency romance novella features a brief scene where the heroine is assaulted.
– Second edition. Newly revised and edited.

MY THOUGHTS

Susanna Lorican wants nothing more than to marry her true love Viscount Camden Beckinworth. The day started with a snow storm and like a snowball rolling downhill getting larger the problems also became larger. Will she ever get married and would she keep her secret until after the wedding?

This is a nice short read, something that can be read in one sitting. I enjoyed the characters and am hoping we get to read more about them from this author. A recommended read.

Clairol Root Touch-up Spray Review

Standard

I have been using touch-up sprays for a few years now. I have a small patch of grey “glitter” hair coming in at the top of my head by my forehead. I am not ready for a full dye job any time yet, but I do like that small spot covered. I tried a few other brands and honestly even Halloween spray. They all covered the grey, but with my black/brown hair it was always a little too brown, and it was also chalky and sitting on top of the hair, making it look dull.

Then today I found Clairol root touch-up in black and all my problems were solved. The spray blended perfect with my natural color. The spray gave my hair a shine and when I ran my fingers through my hair it felt so soft and smooth not chalky. I am so pleased with this product that I called the company to see if they offered coupons so I could stock up. I was told coupons are available in the Sunday paper and and at coupons.com. So if your looking for a great touch up spray I highly recommend the Clairol root touch-up. I was thrilled to find this product.

This is not a sponsored post. I purchased this on my own to try and decided to review.
