Tuna melts are a quick filling meal to make when your trying to use up veggies and pantry items. This sandwich is so creamy and delicious I want to make one right now. I love the cheese and crunch from the celery and onions and the rye bread takes this over the edge. I hope you give it a try Enjoy!!!
Makes 2 sandwiches
1 can solid albacore tuna, drained
about 1/4 of a small onion, finely diced
1 celery stalk, cleaned and diced
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
4 slices rye bread
dash of pepper
4 slices provolone cheese
butter, about 1 tablespoon
In a bowl mix tuna, onion, celery, mayo and dash pepper, mix well
place a slice of provolone cheese down on rye bread, now add 1/2 the tuna mix, add another slice cheese top with bread, do this a second time to make 2nd sandwich.
heat butter over a low heat in fry pan. when melted, spread butter around, add both sandwiches to fry pan, turn when golden brown and cheese is melted. Once golden brown on both sides, place on plate cut in half and serve.
