Chocolate Chip Banana Bread


I have been making this bread for years.  I found it a long time ago and wrote the recipe down to make.  I don’t have the original source, but I had to share this recipe with you.  It uses egg substitute and apple sauce to make it a more healthy version.  I always made as directed and am not sure on substitutes.  This recipe was a hit as is and ingredients are inexpensive at Aldi’s grocery store.  Enjoy!!


Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. all spice

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1 tablespoon melted butter

3 tablespoons applesauce

2/3 cup light brown sugar

1/2 cup egg substitute

1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

 

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

mix all dry ingredients together

in a different bowl mix mashed bananas, applesauce, melted butter and brown sugar.  Mix to combine.  Add egg substitute and mix to combine.

Add the dry ingredients and blend together.

mix in chocolate chips.

pour into a greased 8×4 loaf pan bake 50-60 minutes or until toothpicks comes out clean.

cool on a baking rack. slice and enjoy.
