Do you ever get a craving for sweets, but its too hot to turn the oven on to make anything? These Chocolate Covered Strawberries really hit the spot. With just 2 ingredients these not only taste good, but look good and are a great party dessert. these can be as simple or as fancy as you want with the addition of sprinkles or nuts or even different colors of chocolate. I like milk chocolate the best, so I love them as pictured in the photo. Enjoy!!!
CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES
1 pound strawberries, leave stems and leaves on
16 oz. package milk chocolate morsels
Place the morsels in a small bowl and microwave 30 seconds, remove from microwave, mix and microwave 30 more seconds, mix again they should be completely melted, if not try another 30 seconds until melted.
Dip clean strawberries into the chocolate, covering all sides. I hold mine by the stem or leaves and it works fine for me. Place on a cookie sheet lined with foil, continue to coat all strawberries until they are all coated. With left over chocolate, place the melted chocolate in a Ziploc bag, cut a small hole in the corner, now make designs on the strawberries with the bag. I find going back and forth makes a nice design, see photo.
Tips: If you find the chocolate is too thick to dip the strawberries in, you can add 1 teaspoon of Crisco to the morsels before melting.
