Recipe: Peanut Butter Balls

Peanut Butter Balls

So, you bought all your Halloween candy and your glad you have your shopping done early.  Then you have a bag of Reese cups in a cupboard calling your name.  Do you open the bag and risk eating all the trick or treat candy, or do you make your own.  I opted to make my own.

4 cups powdered sugar

1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup butter melted

3 tablespoons milk

12 ounce package milk chocolate chips

1 tablespoon Shortening

Sprinkles, optional

Mix powdered sugar, peanut butter and butter, mix well

Add milk and mix to incorporate

Form dough in a ball

Place in fridge or freezer to set up, (about 15 minutes worked well for me)

In a microwave safe bowl add chocolate chips and shortening, microwave 30 seconds mix, repeat until the chocolate is melted, do not melt to long or you will ruin the chocolate.

Dip ball,  in the melted chocolate and place on waxed paper until hardened. (If using sprinkles, place on the peanut butter balls before they harden so the sprinkles stick)
